SUPEROMG - RJR on The Bachelorette!!!

I don't know how this slipped by me until now, but I found out yesterday through a chance encounter with MichaelTan that our childhood friend and eggfurious cast member Jay (RJR) is going to be on The Bachelorette...premiering TONIGHT!!!!

Jay resurfaced in my life about a year ago just as I was getting ready to leave LA.

We had a delicious lunch at Sur...

On the day we took these headshots...

(And at the time I didn't really know why he wanted headshots since he is a lawyer and not an actor...)

But we stayed in touch... and he attended my Incredibly Going-Away Party.

And hit on some of my pretty ladyfriends.

Wow wow wow wow wow....I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BACHELORETTE TONIGHT!!!!!

It's on at 9pm on ABC!

I was going to be watching it anyway, but this just makes it SOOOOO much better.

Like...I mean...I've known Jay since we were 6 years old and we went to sleepaway camp with Mike and Charlie and Connor and Matt and played Go Fish! naked in a sleeping bag. So weird.

Some lives are just perfect.

On May 14, just a day before her wedding, Danneel found out that the pilot she starred in, "Friends with Benefits", was picked up by NBC.

It's probably an understatement to say that it has been a VERY good week for her.

Here's today's press release:

Newlywed Danneel Harris, who just said “I Do” to Supernatural hottie Jensen Ackles, is part of the NBC’s newest TV series Friends with Benefits. Instead of enjoying a relaxing honeymoon, the actress has hit the road to immediately begin promoting her new show.

First stop: NYC for NBC's Upfronts:

The remainder of the cast of "Friends with Benefits" includes Veronica Mars and Party Down actor Ryan Hansen, Jessica Lucas of Cloverfield, Ian Kesler and Fran Kranz.

Per NBC, Friends with Benefits revolves around:

“A group of twenty-something singles as they navigate the difficult, and often confusing, world of dating. Ben Weymouth (Ryan Hansen) is on the hunt for the perfect woman who meets his unique set of standards, while his best friend, Sara Maxwell (Danneel Harris) is just looking for a man to settle down with and raise a family. Ben and Sara have fallen into the habit of turning to each other for moral and physical support as they wait for Mr. and Mrs. Right to arrive. Their friend Aaron (Fran Kranz), a romantic at heart, doesn’t approve of Ben and Sara’s complicated friendship, but he, along with the womanizer Hoon (played by Ian Kesler) and straight shooter Riley (Jessica Lucas) are all distracted with their own dating trials and tribulations.”

The pilot was penned by the writers of "500 Days of Summer" and the series will be executive produced by David Nevins and Brian Grazer ("24", "Arrested Development", "Friday Night Lights").

Friends with Benefits will appear on NBC this Fall!

The trailer looks promising!

And, I mean, come on. With that writing and producing team how can you possibly go wrong?

In the meantime you can check out Danneel in her upcoming movie projects "The Roommate" co-starring Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, and "The Back Up Plan" starring Jennifer Lopez.

Hot Danny's Windows Commercial!

A couple weeks back Hot Danny was telling me about this commercial he shot for Microsoft. It hit TV stations today. Megoon was the first to catch it.

If Megoon made tens of G's off her voiceover residuals for Citibank years ago, I can only imagine how much Danny is going to make.

WHHHEEEEE$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Sexy Latin Fun

My friend and former client Juan Pablo just facebook messaged me saying he is back in Venezuela because he landed the lead role on a new soap.

Here's the trailer:

It's looking like they might get picked up by Univision.

Exciting!

He actually had really long hair when we shot...

And I had tied it back and then photoshopped it to look shorter so that he could go out for more mainstream roles.

In the end they cast him in this soap but forced him to cut his hair anyway. He looks SO good in the promo.

J.P. is also apparently slated to play a "Sexy Male Angel" in some upcoming film.

I see a big future for this one.

He's going to be the next Javier Bardem. But hotter.

Surrogate Sighting!

So I netflixed Surrogates and just started watching it this evening.

If you haven't seen it, it's this Bruce Willis movie about the future and how everyone uses a "Surrogate" to represent them in the real world.

These surrogates are like robots and are perfect looking and so there's lots and lots of ridiculously pretty people in the movie.

So in one of the opening scenes there's a car crash.

This car swerves to avoid hitting a motorcyclist and hits a pole and flips and crashes into a line of surrogates waiting in line for a club.

The police arrive.

And clean up the scene.

As they pull the car away...they unveil our sexy surrogate innocent bystander victim...

And it's Danny!

Happily he is not dead because he is sparking and still able to move his head and wiggle his fingers.

Unhappily, this is all we get to see of him in the movie.

Hmmph.

Bet it was a fun movie to shoot though!

Bobby was in this really sick Canon "commercial" which I assume was made by some of his film school buddies.

There's a cool behind-the-scenes video of how it was all made. Not sure if you'll be able to access the Facebook link but try clicking here.

Did you spot Bobbo?

Buppies gets picked up by BET!

Taken from the Wall Street Journal:

For most people, getting an Ivy League degree provides a career boost. But when actress Tatyana Ali returned to acting after graduating from Harvard in 2002, she found it hard to get work in Hollywood.

“I’d been gone for awhile,” says Ali, 30 years old, who co-starred with Will Smith in the sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” early in her career. “That difficulty is what prompted me to start the production company.”

Ali and her sister and business partner, Anastasia, contacted a friend from school, Julian Breece, who’d approached her years earlier with an idea for a television show. The networks passed on the idea, so Ali and Breece looked to the Web, with Ali producing and Breece writing and directing. Independently financing and producing the show gave them complete creative control, from writing in gay characters to casting mostly black actors.

“Doing a Web series, working in this new medium, you have a little bit more autonomy, an ability to tell the story you want to tell,” Ali says.

With a little help from Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, Breece and Ali brought their show to BET. The result is “Buppies,” premiering Tuesday on BET.com. The show is BET’s first original Web series. It’s not the first Web series to feature a predominately black cast, but with BET’s promotion of the show online and on TV, it is arguably the most high-profile.

“BET was definitely not a part of my plan at all,” says Breece. “But a lot of black people flock to the Web for content. I just feel like it’s the new frontier.”

“Buppies” dramatizes the life of Quinci (played by Ali) a socialite and publicist dealing with the loss of her father and the end of a relationship, all amidst the glamour and gossip of Hollywood.

For Ali, who has been readying a pop/R&B album for a spring release, part of the appeal of doing “Buppies” is to show networks that black content can draw viewers.

In past decades, network television featured such black-themed shows as “The Jeffersons,” “The Cosby Show,” “In Living Color,” and “A Different World,” but there are currently no shows with majority black casts that draw the attention of those past programs.

With Ice Cube, Idris Elba, Don Cheadle and Aaron McGruder all producing new series for broadcast and cable networks, that might change in the next few years.

Ali, along with producers Martin Lawrence, Raphael Saadiq and Bentley Kyle Evans (”Martin,” “The Jamie Foxx Show”) have shot four episodes of series called “Love that Girl” and are shopping it to different networks.

“You can only wait around for auditions for so long, wait around for that perfect role for so long,” Ali says about her producing efforts. “As soon as you set out and say: ‘you know what forget everybody, I’m just going to make my own thing, make my own way.’ That’s when you start getting work!”

PWu, my former client and one of my favorite little New York buddies, booked a really cool commercial gig for something that's going to be used in Asia.

Below are some stills from the commercial.

He looks so much like an Asian pop star.

Quite possibly one of the most perfect chinafaces I've ever seen.

Tied with TimLoh.

Imran on The Price Is Right

Imran was on The Price is Right yesterday.

They called out Imran's name.

And his whole crew of USC buddies went bonkers.

First step was naming the price of this pretty pearl necklace.

And he got it!

He was jumping around like a monky the whole time. It was adorable.

The USC kids had so much energy. Most entertaining show ever.

By winning the pearl necklace, he advanced to the freeze-frame round.

Unfortunately he was off by about $1000.

Later in the show, though, he got a chance at spinning the wheel of destiny.

He needed at least .85 to beat out a blonde chick and a fugly little potato asian.

He ended up getting .30 on his first spin.

And .65 on his second! (.95 for all you non-Math Asians)

Everyone went nuts.

He advanced to the Showcase Showdown.

Finally...they were in the showcase.

For his showcase he had prizes including a crazy poker table, crazy pool table, FOUR dirt bikes, and a weeklong luxury trip to Argentina.

He bid $19,000 on his prize package.

Alvester estimated his at $18,750.

When Drew announced the actual amounts, Imran was only a few thousand off.

He was feeling good.

But then Drew announced Alvester's...and it sounded like it was way off...

BUT HE HAD BEATEN IMRAN BY FIVE DOLLARS!!!!!

It was retarded.

Even Drew was stunned.

But noone was more stunned then Alvester.

Imran missed a $20,000 prize by FIVE FREAKING DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think he will ever look at a five-dollar bill the same way again...

But at least Mrs. Ahmad will be walking off with a beautiful pearl necklace!
