Super-Ugh / LAX Celeb-sightings

So because of severe weather in Dallas my flight has been cancelled.

The next flight they can get me on is at 1245pm TOMORROW and it gets into Dallas at 6pm...so basically I miss the wedding I'm headed to, though I should get there just in time for celebrity wastedface.

I am committed to devoting every ounce of energy to getting there on time though, so I'm trying to fly standby on every flight leading up to the 12:45 one.

The first possible one I can get on is at 12 am tonight. So I'll be stuck in the airport here for at least 6-18 hours.

GROAN.....

I am, however, a firm believer in that old saying "When one door closes, another one opens." Plus you can always break a window or take an axe to the garage door...

So the silver lining here I guess is that I have AA lounge access and so I'll get to be in here spotting celebs as they travel through to their different destinations.

Already at the check-in counter I bumped into Madison B., new Season 4 cast member of Friday Night Lights.

She asked me if she could cut me in line because she was late for her flight to Austin (they're currently filming Season 5 there) and of course I let her cut in front of me and I told her I loved her show and she was super excited I recognized her because so far only the first episode has aired and this is her first big gig so she's still new to the "celebrity thing" and I said awesome I take headshots and I will take your headshots someday (if you're lucky). And she laughed and took my business card and we're totally like new bff.

THEN, in the AA lounge I spotted Russell Brand and Katy Perry.

2 hours down...4 to 14 more to go.

EWR -> OSL

Looks like the flight to Norway is a go.

Just in case this is the last you ever hear from me, I just want you to know that I had a very yummy last meal today at Steak Frites in Union Square.

Their brunch special is $15.95 and includes all you can drink mimosas and/or bloody marys!

Yum!

JFK -> LAX

I'm jumping on the 7am flight to L.A..

This month has been/is being crazy.

I've been running around doing work-related stuff.

Photo shoots, promotional stuff, photo shoots, editing.

Haven't even had time to focus on fun pictures.

New Orleans post is almost ready. But by then there will be LA adventures to report on.

Blogger is being annoying in that they started this thing called "auto-pagination" which limits the number of posts that display on the main page of my blog. If you scroll down to the bottom you'll see what I mean and why this is slightly infuriating because it just messes up the whole aesthetic. Part of why I love blogging is that I can click on a monthly archive and re-live my adventures from that month.

Not anymore.

Hmmmph.

It is 6am. I have not slept yet because I left to come to the airport at 4am. And I was going to take a nap around 3am but then Tom/Gaston came into my room (singing) and wanted me to make him a business card so I did that.

So I'm off to LA. My flight lands at 10:30am and I have to run to the Radisson where Jesse hopefully will have left me his car (he's taking off for the weekend) and I'll be able to grab the valet ticket from the front desk and take his car straight to Santa Monica where I have an 11:30 photo shoot. Then I have lunch with Jay followed by an afternoon photosession. Then tonight hopefully will grab some yummy dinner. engagement shoot for Nina tomorrow (Saturday), another headshot session in the afternoon, headshot session Sunday in the morning and afternoon, Monday have to go to Malibu to scout a wedding location and hopefully lock in another wedding client. Then Tuesday it's back to NYC. Hopefully I will get to squeeze in some friend time and gay dancing before jetting back to NYC. A couple days break in NY. Then it's off to Oslo.

I might go crazy by then.

Flight is boarding. Byebye.

See you in LA.

En route to CHAOS

It's a nice snowy day here at La Guardia.

About 36 hours ago I was pressured by almost-doctor Adam into booking tickets to New Orleans for Superbowl madness this weekend.

Of course because I was booking tickets less than 48 hours before my flight the cheapest tickets I could find were on American Airlines.

I hate American. I love Delta.

American wants to charge me for internet use and a bloody mary in the lounge.

Also in my early morning scramble I forgot my party cam at home.

Chaos begins.

Up in the Air

So I'm at LAX waiting for my 16 hour flight to Hong Kong via Taipei.

(Showed up 4 hours early to ensure an exit row seat. Ugh.)

Already I feel like I'm in Asia. Over the loudspeaker they just paged a lady named "Baby Chow" and a man named "Simeon Wong".

Simeon. Like Simian. Like Monky.

(I think once I get to Hong Kong I'll work on a new Asian Names and People post.)

.......................................

Anyway, I saw Up in the Air the other day because my friend had an Academy screener.

It was a really good. And it was kind of about my life (minus some awesomeness and friendships and gay dancing.)

Obviously I'm played by George Clooney.

Let's place bets on what age he will be when he finally stops being dreamy.

See you in Hong Kong!

Best flight EVER

So I know I am semi-late in discovering the wonder of free in-flight internet, but I have finally discovered it and it is making my flight to LA SOOOO enjoyable.

I can blog and chat and VIDEO chat and watch Hulu and edit pictures.

AND I have AC Power so I can plug in my computer and do it the entire flight!

OMG!

Instant videochatting with Ian in NYC!

And Timmo in Singapore!

Technology is SO amazing.

5 hour layover

I'm at JFK after getting off the redeye from LA.

Will be here for about 5 hours before jumping on the noon flight to Chicago.

The good news: I finally passed the 50,000 medallion qualification mile mark for this year and have now been upgraded from Silver to Gold Medallion status. Hopefully I will never have to sit in the yucky poor section of the plane ever again.

The bad news: My eyes want to die.

I'm hoping to get all my updates from this past week up before my flight boards.

I may also just pass out in a corner somewhere.

Or hurl myself into a jet engine.

TBD.

Off to Los Angeles

I'm on my way to LA. But in an effort to save $300 I decided it would be a wonderful idea to fly through Atlanta adding 4 hours to my journey.

It is going to be a long day.

Plus I am having really awesome post-dumpling/beer-burps.

The people around me are going to be so happy.

Off to New Orleans / Upcoming Adventures

I finally caught up on blogging and now I'm off to New Orleans again for another round of adventures.

I'm back Monday after which I'll be "staying put" for the rest of the month.

December is going to be insane though. I will be in NYC for all of three days.

Dec 2-9 I'll be in LA.

Then from LA I take a red-eye on the 9th landing at JFK at 7am on the 10th. At noon that day I fly to Chicago for a belated Thanksgiving celebration with the rest of the Kwans.

Then I fly back to NYC from Chicago on Dec 14th and then jet off to LA again on the 16th for a couple of shoots.

On the 22nd I fly to Hong Kong for Christmas and New Years and then I'll finally return to the states January 7, 2010.

I'm planning to give myself a raise in the next few months. Probably while I'm gone will be a good time for this.

I think 2010 is going to be a great year!

Layover in LAX

So I bumped into Dan and Emily's cousins Kathy and Xiu on my flight from Ohio to LA.

They found a baby!

Oh and then I witnessed major obesity as the monster woman below ordered $20.82 worth of food from Burger King all for herself.

2/3 way to SF!

Layover in Cincinatti

Daylong cross-country journey 1/3 complete.

Airport is nice and spacious. Homes look sunny and nice from above with lots of pools.

Ohio is surprisingly pleasant! Who knew?
